Jeff: Professional Handyman Technician
Jeff, a Montana native, grew up in Missoula, MT where he received his introduction into the world of construction, remodeling houses with his dad. Yet, this would be just the beginning of a career in construction that would come to span decades. Jeff went on to become a Seabee Heavy Equipment Operator with the U.S. Navy. Then, after moving to Wichita, KS eventually started his own business remodeling homes, which he ran for 14 years. However, after 24 years in Kansas, Jeff was ready to move back to Montana to be closer to family.
Jeff enjoys the many outdoor activities that Montana has to offer including hunting, fishing, and camping. He also hobbies in riding and racing dirt bikes.
With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry and a deep love for Montana, we are excited to have Jeff as a part of our team.
Jason: Professional Handyman Technician
Jason’s journey into craftsmanship began as a teenager when he started building and designing outdoor furniture. His passion for woodworking and carpentry led him to become a journeyman carpenter 17 years ago in Washington State.
Driven by his love for rivers, mountains, and open spaces, he made the move to Montana, where he worked in a wooden boat shop in the Paradise Valley, refining his woodworking skills. Over the years, he has gained valuable experience with local custom home builders, improving his finish carpentry skills.
Jason’s love for the outdoors led him to explore other areas within the industry. He worked in quality control and product development for a gear manufacturer, where he even developed sewing skills. Recently, he pursued upholstery studies at FLC in Minnesota while contributing to a furniture manufacturer’s design team, working on upholstery projects, and taking on custom built-ins.
As a true maker at heart, Jason thrives on versatility, with the ability to work with various materials and continuously expand his skill set. Outside of work, he finds joy in mountaineering, river sports, hiking, fishing, hunting, and photography.
With Jason’s experience, passion for craftsmanship, and adventurous spirit, we’re excited about the contributions he brings to our team.

Emily: Office Manager
Emily, Peter’s wife and business cohort, has been a part of our team since the beginning. She manages to maintain a full-time job as a veterinarian here in the Gallatin Valley while helping with various administrative tasks for Heritage Handyman in her time off.
Emily grew up in the Gallatin Valley where she would eventually attend Montana State University and obtain a degree in Microbiology. She then went on to attend veterinary school in Pullman, Washington where she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing for a couple of years in Helena, MT she is excited to be back home, close to family, friends, and beautiful mountains.
While Emily has a passion for the health and well-being of animals, she also has a passion for interacting and connecting with clients. This motivation has extended over into her role within Heritage Handyman, connecting with business clients and partners alike. Emily enjoys working behind the scenes in various aspects to help keep Heritage Handyman moving.
Peter: Owner
Peter, our founder and fearless leader, is a Montana native hailing from Choteau, MT. He grew up on a Hutterite colony where he learned the value of hard work and versatility. His father was a carpenter, so he gained many valuable insights from a young age in this field. As a general laborer on the colony he also learned numerous different tasks as they related to a mostly self-sufficient way of living. Much of Peter’s business acumen and “out-of-the box” thinking can be attributed to watching his grandfather who founded and ran Montana Eggs, LLC, selling Hutterite eggs to local and national chain grocery stores. Peter’s grandfather started this business venture in Great Falls, MT and it has now become a multi-state operation with clients including Costco, Sam’s Club, and Walmart.
After leaving the colony and spending many years in sales (from selling cars with Lithia to listing houses as a real estate agent with Keller Williams), Peter decided to leap into business ownership. Heritage Handyman began as Helena Handyman in Helena, MT, and while Helena offered a great community in an up-and-coming area, Peter and his wife, Emily, decided to move to Bozeman to become part of a larger community and to be closer to Emily’s family and homeland. Thanks to our growing clientele, Heritage Handyman has continued to thrive and we look forward to continuing to earn clients for life.
